Description

Weld It is a physics-based puzzle simulation game developed by a small independent studio. The player assumes the role of a welder tasked with repairing broken metal structures, such as bridges, towers, and vehicles, by applying virtual welds. The game emphasizes structural integrity and material stress. Each level presents a damaged object composed of separate metal segments. The objective is to reconnect these segments using a limited amount of weld material, ensuring the repaired structure can withstand external forces like gravity, weight, or moving parts. The game features a minimalist visual style with a focus on realistic joint physics.

Instructions

Gameplay proceeds in a top-down or isometric view. The player selects a weld tool from a palette. To create a weld, the player clicks and drags the cursor from one metal segment to another, forming a connecting bead. Each weld consumes a fixed amount of material from a finite supply displayed on the interface. The player can also cut existing welds with a cutting tool to reattempt a connection. After all intended welds are placed, the player activates a stress test by pressing a designated key. The game then simulates physics, applying forces such as a falling weight or a moving piston. The structure is evaluated: if all welds hold and the object remains intact, the level is passed. If any weld breaks or the structure collapses, the player must redo the level. Controls are mouse-driven: left-click to select and place welds, right-click to cut. The scroll wheel adjusts weld thickness, which affects strength and material cost. Tactical techniques include creating triangular trusses for stability, reinforcing high-stress joints, and conserving weld material by using the minimum number of connections.
