Description
Tornado.io is a multiplayer online browser game developed by a small independent studio. Players control a tornado character within a two-dimensional arena, competing against other players to absorb objects and grow in size. The game features a top-down perspective and a minimalist art style. The objective is to become the largest tornado on the server by consuming environmental items and smaller opponents. The game ends when a player’s tornado is completely absorbed by a larger one. No single-player mode exists; all sessions are online multiplayer.
Instructions
Gameplay mechanics are based on size and absorption. Each tornado has a circular hitbox. Movement is controlled using the W, A, S, and D keys for directional movement. The mouse cursor determines the tornado’s facing direction. The left mouse button activates a “suck” ability, pulling nearby objects and smaller tornadoes toward the player. The right mouse button releases a burst of wind, pushing away threats. Tactical techniques include circling larger tornadoes to avoid direct contact while using the suck ability to draw in debris. Players can also use the wind burst to deflect incoming projectiles or to escape being absorbed. The game’s physics engine calculates mass and momentum; larger tornadoes move slower but have a wider absorption radius. A common strategy is to stay near the arena’s edge to avoid being surrounded.
