Project: Survival

Project: Survival is a single-player and cooperative multiplayer open-world survival game developed by Enduring Studios and released in 2023. The game is set on a procedurally generated archipelago after a global ecological collapse. Players assume the role of a stranded survivor whose primary objective is to secure long-term sustenance, construct shelter, and research technology to escape the island chain. The environment features dynamic weather cycles, a day-night system, and a realistic hunger, thirst, and stamina management model. Hostile wildlife and environmental hazards, such as toxic gas vents and flash floods, present constant threats. The game does not include a narrative campaign; progression is entirely player-driven through crafting, base building, and exploration.

Gameplay mechanics are divided into three core systems: resource gathering, crafting, and base defense. Resources are harvested by interacting with objects using the E key. The inventory is managed via the I key, which displays weight and stack limits. Crafting is accessed through the Tab menu, requiring specific materials and a workbench. Base construction uses a snap-to-grid system activated by the B key; structures require a foundation and can be upgraded with reinforced materials. Combat involves a primary weapon slot (mouse left-click for attack) and a secondary tool slot (mouse right-click for blocking or special action). The Q key throws a held item. Tactical techniques include building elevated platforms to avoid ground-based predators, using noise traps (crafted from tin cans and string) to divert hostile creatures, and maintaining a minimum of three days of preserved food in storage to survive storms. Nighttime survival is optimized by staying near a campfire (F key to ignite) to prevent hypothermia and by using a torch (slot 3) to deter nocturnal predators.
