Description
TrafficControl.io is a browser-based multiplayer simulation game developed by a small independent studio. The game places the player in the role of an air traffic controller responsible for managing the safe and efficient movement of aircraft within a designated airspace. The objective is to guide planes from their entry points to designated runways or holding patterns without collisions. The game features a minimalist top-down interface with a radar view displaying aircraft as labeled icons. Each plane has a unique flight number, speed, and altitude. The game ends when a collision occurs or when a plane is not landed within its fuel limit. The difficulty increases with the number of simultaneous aircraft and the complexity of their routes.
Instructions
Gameplay mechanics center on issuing commands to aircraft via mouse clicks. To select a plane, the player clicks on its icon. A context menu appears with options: "Land," "Hold," "Change Altitude," and "Change Speed." The player must click "Land" to assign a runway, then click on the runway to initiate the landing sequence. "Hold" directs the plane to a circular holding pattern. Altitude and speed adjustments are made by clicking the respective option and then entering a numeric value via a pop-up slider or keyboard input. The primary control scheme uses the left mouse button for selection and command execution. The keyboard keys 1 through 4 can be used as shortcuts for the four main commands. Tactical techniques include maintaining a minimum separation of three grid units between aircraft, using holding patterns to delay planes when runways are occupied, and reducing speed for aircraft approaching from opposite directions to prevent crossing paths. Prioritizing planes with lower fuel levels is essential for survival.
