Description

The Last Stand Zombies is a browser-based tower defense and survival game developed by Con Artist Games, released in 2007. The player controls a single survivor defending a fortified barricade against waves of zombies. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic urban environment. The objective is to survive as many nights as possible by eliminating zombies before they breach the barricade. Resources are limited, requiring strategic allocation of ammunition and health. The game features a top-down perspective with pixel art graphics. Each night consists of a set number of zombies, with increasing difficulty and variety of enemy types, including fast runners and armored zombies.

Instructions

Gameplay operates in two phases: daytime preparation and nighttime combat. During the day, the player uses earned points to purchase weapons, repair the barricade, or buy health packs. Weapons include pistols, shotguns, rifles, and automatic weapons, each with distinct damage, fire rate, and reload speed. At night, the player controls a cursor to aim and click to fire. The player character is stationary behind the barricade. Movement is not possible; aiming is done by moving the mouse cursor over the screen. Left-click fires the equipped weapon. Right-click or pressing the R key reloads the current weapon. Number keys 1 through 4 switch between weapon slots. The spacebar pauses the game. Tactical techniques include prioritizing headshots for instant kills, conserving ammunition by using single-shot weapons against isolated zombies, and repairing the barricade only when it is below half health to maximize point efficiency. Switching to a shotgun is effective against clustered groups, while rifles are optimal for distant threats.
