Description
SquidGame Multiplayer is a competitive online game released in 2024, developed by Studio 58. It adapts the children’s games from the South Korean survival drama series into a multiplayer elimination format. The game supports up to 32 players per match, who compete across a series of rounds. Each round features a different game, such as Red Light, Green Light, Honeycomb, Tug of War, Marbles, and Glass Bridge. Players are eliminated upon failing a game’s objective, with the last surviving player declared the winner. The game uses a third-person perspective and is available on PC and current-generation consoles.
Instructions
Gameplay and controls are structured around precise timing and spatial awareness. In Red Light, Green Light, players move forward using the left analog stick or W key. The movement must stop when the doll’s voice stops; any detected motion results in immediate elimination. The Honeycomb game requires players to trace a shape using the right analog stick or mouse. Applying excessive pressure or deviating from the outline breaks the shape, causing elimination. Tug of War is a team-based strength test. Players press the action button (A on controller, Space on keyboard) in rapid succession to pull the rope. The team with the lower cumulative press count loses. Marbles involves a turn-based throwing mechanic. Players aim with the right stick or mouse and press the fire button (R2 or left mouse) to launch a marble. The player whose marble lands closest to a central target wins the round. Glass Bridge requires players to jump between panels using the jump button (X or Space). Panels break after one jump, and players must memorize safe paths from previous rounds. Tactical techniques include delaying movement in Red Light to observe other players’ timing, and using peripheral vision in Honeycomb to avoid over-cutting. In Tug of War, maintaining a steady rhythm of presses is more effective than erratic bursts.
