Description

Wolfoo Block Blast is a puzzle video game developed for mobile platforms, targeting a young audience through its association with the Wolfoo animated character series. The game is a variant of the classic block-matching genre, where the primary objective is to clear a grid by placing colored blocks. The game presents a 10x10 square board. Players are given a set of three block shapes per turn, each composed of a specific number of connected squares in various configurations, such as lines, L-shapes, or squares. The player must drag and drop these shapes onto the grid. When a full horizontal row or vertical column of the grid is completely filled with blocks, that line is cleared, awarding points and freeing space. The game ends when no more shapes can be placed on the board. The visual design uses bright, saturated colors and simple animations consistent with the Wolfoo brand. No time limit or score multiplier mechanics are present; the challenge is purely spatial.

Instructions

Gameplay mechanics are based on spatial reasoning and forward planning. The player receives three block shapes each turn. These shapes cannot be rotated or flipped; they must be placed in their given orientation. Blocks can be placed anywhere on the 10x10 grid as long as all squares of the shape are over empty cells. Placing a block that completes one or more full rows or columns immediately clears those lines. Cleared lines disappear, and all blocks above them shift down. Points are awarded per block placed, with a bonus for clearing multiple lines simultaneously. The game provides a preview of the next set of three shapes, allowing for strategic placement.

Operation controls are exclusively touch-based. The player selects a block shape by touching and holding it. The shape follows the finger movement. A semi-transparent preview of the shape appears on the grid, showing the exact placement location. The player releases the touch to drop the shape. If the placement is invalid, the shape snaps back to the original tray. There are no buttons for rotation, undo, or pause. The only interactive elements are the block shapes and the grid.

Tactical techniques involve prioritizing the clearing of lines in the center of the board to maintain open space. Players should avoid filling isolated cells in the corners early, as these are difficult to clear. A common strategy is to reserve the longest shapes for completing nearly full rows or columns. Observing the next shape preview is critical; a player should leave space that accommodates upcoming large or awkward shapes. Creating multiple parallel lines of the same length increases the chance of clearing several rows at once. The game does not penalize slow play, so deliberate placement is always superior to speed.
