Neck Stack Rush

Neck Stack Rush is a competitive arcade-style video game developed by Stretch Interactive and released in 2023. The game simulates a surreal biological stacking challenge where players control a single humanoid character whose neck elongates vertically. The objective is to stack the character’s neck segments onto a moving platform at the top of the screen. The game supports single-player and local multiplayer modes for up to four participants. Each match lasts approximately 90 seconds. The visual style employs flat, neon-colored graphics against a black background. The game is available on Windows, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms.

Gameplay mechanics center on precise timing and spatial awareness. The player’s character stands at the bottom of the screen. A horizontal platform moves left and right across the top. The player must press the jump button to launch the character upward. Upon landing on the platform, the neck segment locks into place, and the character resets at the bottom with a new segment. If the character misses the platform, the segment is lost, and the character falls back to the bottom. The game ends when all segments are lost or time expires. The player with the tallest neck stack wins.

Operation controls: On keyboard, the spacebar initiates the jump. The left and right arrow keys adjust the character’s horizontal position during ascent. On gamepad, the A button jumps, and the left analog stick controls horizontal drift. On mobile, a tap on the left or right side of the screen moves the character, and a tap on the center jumps. Tactical techniques include releasing the jump button early to reduce ascent height, allowing for shorter arcs on fast-moving platforms. Players may also drift slightly left or right mid-air to correct landing position. Advanced players use a technique called “feathering,” where rapid, small horizontal inputs slow descent speed, enabling tighter landings on narrow platform edges.
