The ink burst is most effective when used to stun fast-moving predators, such as barracudas, rather than for navigation. Object manipulation is critical for creating shortcuts; for example, moving a heavy shell to block a current can open a previously inaccessible passage. In later biomes, the octopus can learn temporary camouflage by pressing against specific coral types, which allows passage through enemy patrol zones without triggering combat. The optimal strategy is to memorize the layout of the first two chambers of each level, as the pearl chamber is always connected to the starting area by a single, non-linear path.
