Dragon Draw Joust is a 2023 mobile strategy game developed by Pixel Forge Studios. The game combines tower defense mechanics with a drawing interface. Players defend a central castle by drawing magical barriers and summoning dragons. The objective is to survive waves of enemy creatures, each wave increasing in difficulty. Gameplay proceeds in real-time. Each level begins with a set amount of mana, which regenerates slowly. The primary action is drawing lines on the screen. A drawn line creates a temporary barrier that blocks enemy movement for a few seconds. Barriers degrade over time and are destroyed by enemy attacks. To summon a dragon, the player must draw a specific shape (e.g., a circle for a fire dragon, a triangle for an ice dragon) within a designated summoning zone. Each dragon type has unique attack patterns and cooldowns. Controls are entirely touch-based. The player uses one finger to draw barriers and two fingers to perform a pinch gesture, which zooms the camera. A tap on an active dragon selects it and allows the player to drag a target reticle onto an enemy for a focused attack. Tactical techniques include chaining barriers to funnel enemies into kill zones, conserving mana for emergency summons, and prioritizing the elimination of ranged attackers before they destroy key barriers. Effective mana management is critical for survival in later waves.
