A long press on a screw adjacent to an exit initiates the unscrewing animation if conditions are met. A dedicated undo button reverses the last action, and a reset button restarts the level. Tactical techniques include planning removal sequences from the outermost screws inward to avoid trapping screws in corners. Players should identify screws that act as keys, blocking access to other screws or exits. Rotating screws can change their orientation, allowing them to fit through narrow passages or align with exits on different axes. When multiple screws share a color, removing one may change the color of another, requiring careful sequencing. Advanced levels require the player to create temporary holding areas by sliding screws into empty spaces to rearrange the board. The game rewards efficiency; completing a level in fewer moves earns a higher star rating, though this is optional for progression.
