Description

Baby Cat Daycare is a digital simulation game developed for mobile platforms, released in 2023. The game places the player in the role of a caretaker responsible for the well-being of a group of anthropomorphic kitten characters within a dedicated daycare facility. The primary objective is to manage the kittens' needs, including hunger, hygiene, energy, and happiness, through a series of interactive tasks. The game features a colorful, two-dimensional art style with a fixed, top-down perspective of the daycare environment. Progression is measured by the player's ability to maintain all kittens in a healthy state over multiple in-game days, unlocking new rooms, toys, and kitten breeds as milestones are achieved. The game operates on a real-time clock, with kittens requiring attention at regular intervals. No narrative or dialogue is present; the experience is purely task-oriented.

Instructions

Gameplay mechanics are centered on a resource management loop. Each kitten has four status bars: hunger, cleanliness, energy, and happiness. These bars deplete over time and must be replenished through specific actions. The player must feed kittens from a food bowl, clean them using a sponge, put them to sleep in a bed, and play with them using toys. Failure to address any status bar results in the kitten becoming distressed, which lowers overall facility rating and slows progression. The game ends if all kittens reach a critical state simultaneously.

Operation controls are entirely touch-based. The player taps on a kitten to select it, then taps on a corresponding station (food bowl, bath, bed, or toy) to perform the action. Dragging a kitten to a station also works. A menu bar at the bottom of the screen displays the status of all kittens at a glance, allowing for quick triage. The player can also tap on the facility itself to purchase upgrades, such as larger beds or automatic feeders, using in-game currency earned from completing daily tasks.

Tactical techniques involve prioritizing kittens with the lowest status bars first, as a single kitten in critical state can lower the happiness of others. Group feeding is more efficient than individual feeding; placing multiple kittens near the food bowl before tapping it serves all at once. Upgrading the automatic feeder early reduces manual feeding frequency, freeing time for cleaning and play. The player should rotate toys to prevent boredom, as repeated use of the same toy reduces its effectiveness. Sleeping kittens do not lose energy, so scheduling naps during periods of low activity is recommended. Currency is best spent on the happiness-boosting toy variety pack before expanding the facility.
